Behind the Art at Cranberry

Behind the Art at Cranberry

Cranberry Township was founded in 1804 and named for the native wild cranberries growing along Brush Creek. With our 4th Pittsburgh area location, Condado Tacos art theme here is centered around Condado's World of Tomorrow. Cranberry is right next door to Mars Township and one of the 9 local artists, Brian Gonnella, developed the idea to make a retro vision of what the space-age future holds for Condado in Cranberry. Gonnella painted the centerpiece on the back wall. More hand painted art here features Condado's characters, Ghost Pepper Greys invading the world, the local Taconians roaming while being hunted by the Sand Peezler, and the Moon Man planetary de-fense system. One of the artists, Brian Holderman, created specific scenes he remembered from his years living in Cranberry. You’ll find a not-so-futuristic campground which stuck around for quite some time as complexes and businesses were built around it, until it was essentially a parking lot. In this retro future, the campground is one of the last relics of Earth with Condado Founder Joe Kahn and a gnome (for his wife Julie) roasting treats over fire, while space-age Vyv and Grady (Joe's late dogs) chase fireflies with Mila (Joe's granddaughter). It’s a family affair in Cranberry!

THE ART OF IT ALL

Condado is more than the freshest tacos and margs in town. Condado is a place to come as you are, soak up the local vibe, and feel connected. Condado Celebrates individuality and we dig being original. Every Condado restaurant is unique with hand-painted murals by local artists.
